Multi-Track Jazz Drum Recordings for Complete Mix Control
Jazz Essentials III delivers authentic, studio-quality jazz drum multitracks performed by a seasoned New York City session drummer. Unlike standard jazz drum loops, these are complete “takes” of traditional jazz standards—recorded as seven separate tracks for total mixing control. Whether you’re producing jazz compositions, hip-hop with swing elements, or film scores requiring authentic period sound, you’ll have professional-grade stems ready to mix exactly as your project demands.
Perfect for all musicians and recording artists needing authentic jazz drum stems or composers scoring films or production music. Essentially, anyone who needs real jazz drums and wants control of the drum mix.
Three Complete Jazz Standards • Multiple Takes • Seven Individual Tracks
Each song form offers multiple interpretations with sticks and brushes:
- Jazz Standard 01: 170 BPM 12 Bar Swing (12 bar blues form, 4:00 minutes). Six takes, two with brushes.
- Jazz Standard 02: 155 BPM 32 Bar Swing (AABA form, 4:30 minutes). Six takes, two with brushes.
- Jazz Standard 03: 135 BPM 32 Bar Bossa (AABA form, 4:30 minutes). Three takes, all with sticks.
Studio-Quality Recording with Vintage Gear
Recorded with a vintage Gretsch maple kit (18″ kick, 12″ rack tom, 14″ floor tom, DW and Gretsch 14″ snare drums) through classic studio gear. The drum tuning is characteristically tight with well-worn heads—exactly what you’d hear on classic Blue Note recordings. Multiple Zildjian ride cymbals were selected per track to match the musical feel: dry for swing, bright for bossa, dark for ballads.
We captured a gigging kit that has seen countless club dates—the kind of authentic, lived-in sound you can’t replicate with samples. The tight 18″ kick delivers the right attack and low end for intimate jazz productions. You’ll get a great mix with minimal effort if you’re after a truly authentic club date vibe.
Seven Discrete Multitrack Stems Per Performance
Each drum performance includes seven individual tracks for complete mixing flexibility:
- Kick drum (inside)
- Sub kick (outside)
- Snare
- Overhead left
- Overhead right
- Hi-hat
- Room (ribbon mic)

Carl Meyer –
I needed real jazz drums that sound like I’m playing with an actual drummer, and that’s exactly what I got. Love these. Have been experimenting with many different mixes and saving the loner phrases for practice. Glad I found these!
V Glennan –
Very useful. The ability to mix is great. I am mixing them to taste and then cutting the best sections into jazz loops. A few spots are not “spot on” perfect but I get it – it’s a real drummer. I totally did not want to get lifeless, stuck to the grid jazz so this are the exact thing i wanted. I wanted so human feel! Good job.
